Metamod is a plugin/DLL manager that sits between the Half-Life Engine and an HL Game mod, allowing the dynamic loading/unloading of mod-like DLL plugins to add functionality to the HL server or game mod. Metamod-P is enhanced version of Metamod. It has dynamic link-entities and automatic detection of Mod DLL and other improvement to allow it work with future Half-Life Engine updates and new Mods and updates.

Admin Mod is a Metamod plugin that allows you to administer your Half-Life server while playing the game from your client console. Multiple administrators with different permissions can be set up, each with their own password. You don't need to give your server's rcon password to all your administrators anymore.
It also supports scripts written in the Small programming language that add new features to the core program.

AMX Mod X was originally based on AMX Mod, a similar Half-Life modification by OLO. However, AMX Mod began to slip into poor project policies (lack of public input, no open source enforcement, no central source code maintained, and much more).
Due to the dead appearance of the project as all maintainers had disappeared into oblivion, the AMX Mod X project was started.
