My brother showed me a game on Steam called Audiosurf. It only costs $10.
The only way I can describe it, is that it is a combination of Tetris/Lumines, Wipeout and Guitarhero!
What happens is you choose any song from your collection (it supports most main files you know wma, mp3 etc) and then a unique track is generated for that song, the track is A to B style, not circuit. But anyway, you do not race, instead control the car on its journey to get points.. I won't go into all that, read a proper review if you are interested so far, but what I find most amazing about the game is the unique tracks built for each song.. it looks at the frequency patterns, the mellows and intensity etc.. mellow sections going up a hill all chilled out, intense sections going fast and downhill.. its unbelievable the way you can feel the song in the track, and it is especially good at picking up atmosphere in the songs!
Good songs make good tracks!
at $10 its worth a look for music lovers, but there is a demo version too. I know ill be testing out my new albums and downloads on it now!! |
