A watched a friend play it for 20 minutes.
Looks badass!
He is a big fan of Gears of War (and so am I) and he said he couldn't say which was better. They are just 2 different styles. Gears of War captures traditional feel of brutal war, with a modern feel for the technology (dispite fighting off alien-like 'Locust') in a 3rd / 1st person shooter with interesting features like the wall sticking, active reloads and taut bow arrow physics. The story never interested me much but I was fully captured by the characters and their mission.
Halo 3 is moreso a sci-fi futuristic feel setting, with traditional FPS style battles. Obviously I cannot say much after 20 minutes of watching, but the game looks very, very polished.
I ripped this from a review I read
"Folks who have been holding their breath for this release since 2004 can relax; the only thing left to do now is play and have a good time. Halo 3 is fun. Any game - regardless of platform, generation, or genre - where you can finish up and immediately want to start playing again ... it's hard to call that anything but a success."
I will definately be buying.
As for PC version, I will buy x360 version, but I recon PC version will be better for deathmatch. I want to play co-op, so I buy x360, but PC blatantly better for online gaming, on a decent computer play it fast and jack up the FOV. |

Thx for the review.... I'm pretty much getting the same story everywhere so prolly won't be picking it up:

Guess it might be worth it for the short single player...
I never really got into that whole slow moonwalking like multiplayer experience, so doubt i'd really be into playing the MP... if they speeded it up and added some bunny it might be kind of fun, but that's what we have D3 and Quake 4 around for. |

Looks great. I like the cartoon look of it in all the vids that are out.
If they drop the price on valve's Orange Box thing I might pick it up, so i can try to play HL Episodes 1,2 at the same time.... |

Just finished Portal...
and
and also
Over way too quickly but what you get is pretty damn fun. Not since Pun last attacked a QW trick map has the FPS seen such mental flying about.
Also: best ending credits to a game ever, fact fans! |

True but I tend to be open minded and not think that if it aint fast it aint good, or no bunny no fun.
That review was good though, I like this part "In terms of sound, well, the game has sound."
As for TF2, glad to hear people enjoying it.. I haven't tried it yet cos I been hooked on Fortress Forever, which is so close to Team Fortress Classic that it feels like a port, although it was built from scratch! The only changes have been cool new features, like quake style bunnyhop (hold jump in the air to perfect time on landing) and the spys can cloak thx to source engine effect =) |
